The Awaken youth foundation is a safe haven for at-risk youth in Quito, Ecuador—kids who come from broken families, suffer abuse, work in the streets, sell drugs, or have parents in jail—and we need a place for them to go. Fortunately, another youth foundation has taken in the kids until we establish a new center. Please help us reach our goal! Whether you share our posts or make a financial contribution, every little bit of help counts.
These kids deserve SO much, and we want to provide them with a fun and safe space that they are excited to come to after school each day. After our former foundation was recently demolished, we have purchased a new space, but it needs to be nearly entirely rebuilt and furnished. Our vision for the new foundation includes a kitchen for cooking classes, a silent study and a communal study room, a computer lab, an art room for painting, music, and theater, a safe space for therapy, and a big grassy area for sports.
